FreeWill Labs LLC (“FreeWill Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) creates family-centered digital products and services for travel planning, real-world exploration, and memory-making. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our websites, apps, forms, products, and services, including Family Trip OS and Adventure Quest.

1. Products Covered by This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the FreeWill Labs website, Family Trip OS, Adventure Quest, Adventure Quest premium and custom collections, Adventure Quest partner pilot inquiries, Family Trip OS custom trip builds, contact forms, order forms, intake forms, related emails, support, and customer communications. This policy may also apply to future FreeWill Labs products and services unless a separate privacy policy is provided.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you choose to provide, information needed to deliver our products and services, and limited technical information related to website or app usage.

Family Trip OS Information

For Family Trip OS, we may collect information you provide so we can manually build a personalized trip companion. This may include trip itinerary details, daily plans, transportation details, hotel or lodging details, cruise or excursion information, important reminders or deadlines, family preferences, destination interests, uploaded confirmations, screenshots, PDFs, notes, and information needed to organize your trip into a usable travel companion.

Family Trip OS is built from the information you provide. Please avoid uploading information that is not needed for your trip build.

Adventure Quest Information

For Adventure Quest, we may collect or process information related to adventure selections, mission progress, completed missions or discoveries, collection ownership or access, saved adventure history, Travel Log or recap content, photos or media you choose to capture, upload, save, or include in recaps, custom collection intake details, and partner collection inquiries.

Adventure Quest may allow users to capture photos or memories as part of the experience. You control what you choose to capture, save, or share.

Payment Information

If you purchase a product or service, payment information may be processed by third-party payment providers or app store platforms. We do not intentionally store full credit card numbers on our own servers. Depending on how you purchase, payment may be handled by providers such as Apple App Store or In-App Purchase, Stripe, PayPal, or other payment processors used by FreeWill Labs. Payment processors may collect billing information according to their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to build a Family Trip OS custom trip companion, create or deliver Adventure Quest collections, process purchases, send order confirmations, respond to questions or support requests, deliver product updates, provide early access or launch updates, improve website, app, and product performance, personalize trip guidance, organize trip details, support Adventure Quest recaps, Travel Log, saved adventures, or collection access, review partner inquiries, prevent misuse, fraud, or security issues, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Photos, Uploads, and User Content

You may choose to upload or submit photos, screenshots, PDFs, confirmations, documents, notes, or other content, including trip confirmations, itinerary screenshots, hotel or transportation details, photos captured during Adventure Quest, recap or Travel Log content, custom collection materials, and partner-provided venue or destination materials.

We use this content only to provide the product or service you requested, support your account or order, improve your experience, or comply with legal obligations. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload or share any content you provide.

Please do not upload sensitive information unless it is necessary for the service. For example, do not upload full passport images, medical records, financial account numbers, or highly sensitive personal information unless we specifically request it and you are comfortable sharing it.

5. Children and Family Use

FreeWill Labs products are designed for families, but our services are intended to be purchased, managed, or submitted by adults. Parents or guardians are responsible for deciding whether a child may use our products, supervising children during real-world exploration, choosing what family information to submit, choosing whether to upload photos or content involving children, and ensuring submitted content is appropriate.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate parent or guardian involvement. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without parent or guardian permission, contact us so we can review and delete the information if appropriate.

6. Location Information

Some FreeWill Labs products may use location-related context to improve travel guidance or exploration experiences. Depending on the feature, location information may include destination or city information you provide, hotel or neighborhood information you provide, approximate location based on device or IP address, and optional GPS or location features if enabled in the app.

Adventure Quest is designed to support exploration, but location features may be optional depending on the adventure. Family Trip OS may use destination and itinerary details you provide to generate trip guidance. We do not require you to share precise GPS location for general website use.

7. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate our business and deliver our products, including website hosting providers, form providers, email providers, payment processors, analytics providers, cloud storage providers, customer support tools, app store platforms, development, security, or infrastructure providers. We share only the information reasonably needed for those providers to perform services for us.

We may also share information when required to comply with law, respond to legal requests, protect our rights, safety, or property, prevent fraud or misuse, or complete a business transfer, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

8. Analytics and Tracking

We may use analytics tools to understand how people use our website, apps, and services. Analytics may help us understand which pages are visited, which product pages convert, which forms are started or submitted, app performance, feature usage, and error or crash patterns. We do not use analytics to sell personal information.

If we use advertising, retargeting, or third-party tracking in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required app privacy disclosures.

9. Email Communications

If you join our email list, place an order, request early access, or contact us, we may email you about your order, product updates, launch announcements, early access opportunities, support responses, Adventure Quest collections, Family Trip OS services, and FreeWill Labs news. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. We may still send transactional or service-related emails related to purchases, support, legal updates, or account matters.

10. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Retention periods may depend on whether you placed an order, whether we need the information to complete your trip build, whether information is needed for customer support, legal, accounting, tax, or business record requirements, whether you ask us to delete your data, and whether data is connected to app functionality, saved memories, or purchased content.

For Family Trip OS custom builds, we may retain submitted trip materials for a reasonable period after delivery in case corrections, support, or follow-up are needed. After that, we may delete or archive materials according to our internal retention practices. For Adventure Quest, saved adventures, Travel Log entries, photos, recaps, and collection access may remain available unless deleted by you or removed according to product functionality.

11. Data Deletion and Privacy Requests

You may contact us to request access to personal information we have about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of personal information, deletion of uploaded trip materials, deletion of account-related information where applicable, or removal from marketing communications. To submit a privacy request, contact FreeWill Labs through the Contact page and use the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, or legitimate business reasons.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no website, app, email, cloud service, or internet transmission is completely secure. You should avoid submitting highly sensitive information unless necessary. If we become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

Our website, apps, or trip companions may link to third-party websites or services such as airlines, hotels, cruise lines, restaurants, museums, maps, transportation providers, ticketing platforms, app stores, payment processors, and partner venues. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, accuracy, security, or content of third-party websites or services. You should review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

14. Real-World Exploration and Safety

Adventure Quest may encourage real-world exploration. Family Trip OS may provide trip organization and practical recommendations. You are responsible for supervising children, following local rules and laws, checking weather, hours, access, closures, and safety conditions, deciding whether an activity, location, route, or recommendation is appropriate, and verifying official travel details with airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, and other providers.

FreeWill Labs does not guarantee that any location, route, activity, recommendation, or mission is safe, open, accessible, or appropriate for every person or family.

15. International Users

FreeWill Labs is based in the United States. If you access our products or services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. By using our products or services, you understand that privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

16. Your Choices

You may choose not to provide certain information, but some products or services may not work without it. For example, Family Trip OS requires enough trip information to build your trip companion; Adventure Quest custom collections require enough destination or itinerary context to create useful missions; email updates require an email address; and some app features may require optional permissions such as photo access or location access. You can manage device permissions through your device settings.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice through the website, app, or email. Your continued use of our products or services after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
